UN at 80: The Network of the Nation's Deeds and Directions

"Eight decades later, one can draw a direct line between the creation of the United Nations and the prevention of a third world war" - Antonio Guterres, United Nations Secretary-General.

Eighty years ago, on 24 October 1945, the UN Charter came into force, establishing the United Nations. Join with the United Nations Association of Australia Young Professionals as we celebrate 80 years spent promoting peace, human rights and social progress, improving access to healthcare and education, and bettering the lives of countless millions around the globe.

Join us in in celebrating eight decades of building a better future, together.

In-person and online across the country, this special event will be feature speakers in all capital cities, as well as online, for free. Local events will feature a key speaker, reflecting on their own experience in the UN system and its ongoing importance today, 80 years since its creation.

Register for your chosen location and we will be in touch with final venue and speaker information.
